Behringer D2 Podcast Pro Review / Test (vs. SM7b, Q2u)
Video & HQ Audio: podcastage.com/rev/d2pp
Today I review the Behringer D2 Podcast Pro, an XLR and USB dynamic mic that costs about $130. This offers a headphone port, an XLR port, and a USB output. On mic you have a headphone volume control as well as a mic mute button. Conversion wise you can record up to 24-bit/96khz, but playback seems to be limited to 16-bit 48khz. I find the sound to be lacking in the low-end with a less aggressive upper frequency range which leads to a more mid focused sound.

HQ Audio Of Review: podcastage.com/rev/m179 Today i review the CAD M179, a relatively affordable multi-pattern condenser mic ranging from Omni to Cardioid to Figure 8 or anything in between. The mic gives a slightly more V-shaped sound with a high frequency boost and deep extension into the bass frequencies. Zoom H1essential Review / Test: 32-bit Floating Recorder
Просмотров 11 тыс.Месяц назад
HQ Audio Of Review: podcastage.com/rev/h1e Today I walkthrough, explain, test and review the Zoom H1e. This is very similar to it's predecessors the H1 and H1n, but it introduces 32-bit floating point which means you are theoretically unable to distort your converters; although you can still distort the microphone capsules if you're recording something very loud. The mic does suffer from wind/p...
Rode TF-5 Review / Test (vs. KM184, sE8, M5)
Просмотров 8 тыс.Месяц назад
HQ Audio Of Review: podcastage.com/rev/tf5 Today i review the Rode TF-5, a premium small diaphragm condenser from Rode. This offers a pretty healthy bass response, clear and open mids which sound less forward than much of its competition, and a nice amount of detail and articulation in the upper frequencies. The only downside I hear is the slightly higher self noise which sounds like it may be ...
Shure MV7+ Review / Test (vs. MV7, SM7b, SM58)
Просмотров 23 тыс.Месяц назад
Video & HQ Audio: podcastage.com/rev/mv7plus Today I review the new Shure MV7 an XLR & USB dynamic microphone with a lot of DSP processing available over USB. The sound of the XLR is great with a supportive lowend, somewhat mid focussed but pleasing sound, and a non-aggressive upper frequency range. Over USB the sound is a bit different with a somewhat hollow sound with congested mids and a tam...
Lewitt Ray Review / Test (vs. AT2020, LCT440, U87)

HQ Audio Of Review: podcastage.com/rev/ray Electric Guitar Demo: ruclips.net/video/f0uoxY9_5QI/видео.html Today i review the Lewitt Ray, a microphone based on the LCT440 but with technology inside that adjusts to your distance. This means that if you move around a lot while recording it will maintain a relatively consistent level and tone. The mic leans on the brighter side of mics with tons of...
Rupert Neve Portico 5017 Preamp Review / Test
Просмотров 10 тыс.2 месяца назад
HQ Audio Of Review: podcastage.com/rev/neve-portico-5017-preamp-review-test How does the Neve Portico 5017 Sound? Awesome. This "mobile" preamp has a ton of gain, a silk circuit to add some coloration, a high pass filter, a compressor with a 2:1 ratio, a noise floor is better than -127dBA, and a D.I. section. This thing is awesome, but the control over the features is pretty limited and at $140...

Video & HQ Audio: podcastage.com/rev/movemic Curtis' Review w/ Distance Test: ruclips.net/video/ruRHrIGvHXU/видео.html Today I review Shure's new fully wireless consumer lav system, the Movemic. This has a tiny transmitter with a bulit in mic that offers a smoother and less bright sound compared to its competitors. It also offers real time processing to add noise reduction, high pass filter, co...
Warm Audio WA251 Review / Test (vs. WA67, WA47, U87, U67)
Просмотров 12 тыс.2 месяца назад
HQ Audio Of Review: podcastage.com/rev/wa251 Today i review the Warm Audio WA251, a clone of the legendary Telefunken ELAM 251. This is a slightly V-shaped sounding microphone with a bump in the bass and low mids and a lift in the treble and air. It offers a relatively smooth sound character and a low noise for a tube mic of 12dBA. RECORDING SETTINGS: Interface: Focsurite Scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen...

I compare this mic to the Shure SM7b, Electro Voice RE20, Neumann TLM103, Neumann U87 Ai, and a bunch more mics so you can hear how it compares to the other available options. Razer Seiren V3 Mini Review / Test (vs. Solocast, Yeti Orb, Snowball, Go Mic)
Просмотров 25 тыс.3 месяца назад
Video & HQ Audio: podcastage.com/rev/v3mini Today I review the Razer Seiren V3 Mini. This is similar to the original Seiren Mini, but with the addition of a capacitive mute button and improved conversion up to 24-bit 96kHz. The sound is slightly V-shaped with a bit of bass/low mid support, and a very exagerated treble region which leads to the mids sounding recessed and non-dominant. Buy the Ra...

Make a video using nt2a omni for spoken word
I have this microphone.
It is hilarious how he throw boxes and mess up stickers GREAT VIDEO 😂😂🤣🤣😭😭💀
Stellar video, straight to the point and very informative. Will reccomend it to anyone that needs help with this.
GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS! I’m a baritone looking for a home studio vocal microphone, which microphones would you suggest? $500 or less
I had this mic, it was good however no comparison to the copies in the much higher price ranges....I found it "Plasticy"....
Damn, you're a guitar guy too? That's cool, i really like that since i too would like to know how the mic sounds next to an amp
Hi! The blue yeti has zero latency?
Hi! It has zero latency?
I really love the Shure SM7B mic for my podcasts. It great great sound and very happy with it. I do run mine with the cloudlifter CL1 activator and it is a great combo. I really love the video on your channel. I love all the detailed demos showing how things sound in various configurations. TY for all you do my friend.
Danke!
That's 1 ugly mic
I think the 1073 SPX is better than the 5017. It's slightly more expensive but has an EQ.
I lost the windscreen, does anyone know where I can buy a replacement for this mic?
Hi! Thinking about getting this or an lct640ts (or maybe the lct 441). Primarily for acoustic guitar, but maybe vocals here and there too. Any thoughts?
What is the name of the micro you using while shooting this video?
Do you need a pop filter or is it already well protected?
When they asked Taylor Swift why she used that mic her answer was, “ I liked it because it was red”. Typical broad answer!
Got cheap Stagg with Neutrik connectors. Out of curiosity compared it to mogami, haven't noticed any difference whatsoever.
Love the early first gen snowball and plastic cup tone, so retro!
Has anyone tried this as bass cab mic? I’m a big fan of using a bright and dark mic on bass amps. Small diaphragm condenser + a “dark” mic (AKG D112, audix D6 etc). Thinkin this could be a great dark mic. I’d also be interested to hear if anyones used it a room mic for drums.
20 years is not so far, that was the begining of 2000's😅
Hello, your video was fantastic… Which of the 3 models would you recommend for professional audio: Audio-Technica BPHS1, BPHS2 or ATH-M50xSTS?
Great review. Can you please try a different USB-C cable such as Apple or an audiophile quality brand? A USB cable is highly subjective to electro magnetic field around it.
picked one up for $19.99 Clearance and pretty dang good,
9:25 kekw
Can you review the slate digital vms ml-1 mic semilator
idk what people hear in the razer seiren tbh. To me the solo cast sounds better
Aucune différence 😂, sincèrement ça vaut vraiment pas le coup ….
i know this might be a long shot, but could you give an opinion on the NT 2A vs the TLM 102. Im not entirely sure the price difference, with the shockmount, is worth it. (I am an Independent Producer and Artist with a home studio). You would help me immensely. Thanks anyway, and love your content.
I was a voice actor and studio musician in the 60s and 70s in Hollywood. I've seen dozens of URB's recorded via a single SM58 laying on the floor, no stand, 3-4 feet in front of the bass. The engineers said the ball on the 58 gave it just enough angle to put the bass in the pattern. The SM57, without the ball, was more parallel to the floor. Apparently the floor created a mic pattern problem. I've also seen 58s in trash cans, refrigerators, and elevator shafts, paired with little PigNose amps, for whatever that sonic effect was. The audio guys loved them.
Can this microphone connect to audio mixer
song cuts out in such a perfect timing XD
Most of the cons you mentioned about the M160 are easily resolved with placement. Move the mic a little further from the source (it will still sound up close due to excellent transient response) or to a location for the acoustic that’s less rich in bass. Massive proximity effect is a feature of most ribbon mics. The exceptions that lack said proximity effect are mainly modern ribbons like the AEA N22 and KU5A. That’s a benefit in close micing but a limitation if you want to use said massive bass.
it sounds good but I can hear the hissing on the USB Input mode a bit (more noticeable if you have on high vol)
Is the usb port sounds better now ? Or should I buy the MV7 OG ?
This be fine for Sennheiser 800s ?
Do you plan to do a review on the new Sony ECM-S1 "podcast" mic as well?
Excellent comparison. You are the best. Please compare the new FiFine Tank3 to the K688. Many of us are having to make this decision! Thank you.
FANTASTIC COMPARISON. Concise, comprehensive and clear. What I learned: (1) I prefer the Shure sound over the other microphones you tested. (2). I have a slight preference for SM7B over the SM7dB +18/+28. The latter sound just a tad less rich. (3). My 3rd favorite was the MV7x. (4). To MY ear, none of the other microphones were competitive with the Shures ... but I love a rich, warm, radio sound. I learned so much in this video. Thank you!
So, what other dynamic USB microphone would you recommend for vocals?
Once you get a c800g you'll sell all your other mics.
I am looking for a mic to use in my meetings during the day, however I cant find a mic (with software) that will clear out background noise (other people speaking). Teams noise cancellation doesnt seem to cut it. Am i looking for the wrong solution here?
This popped up in my feed today, I wanted to see how much it was now. It’s currently $69. Might as well spend the extra $30 and get the SM58 at that price point.
I prefer the vintage MJ SM7 Made in Mexico
Thanks for the review man. Was looking for a cheap, better mic for my recording. I will definitely choose samson q2u.
God damn this review is actually really good.
I actually found myself here because of an accident. I realized that I bought the wireless capsule version of the v7x rather than the standard V7 of my other mic. When using both capsules, I noticed that they weren’t the same. Crazy enough, I actually prefer the sound of the V7x over the V7. It has way more warmth to it. When it comes to vocal mics I actually prefer one that hasn’t been factory tuned to knock out low end frequency. That way you have every frequency to work with. If a mic doesn’t have warmth from the factory tuning, it can’t be added back the same way as if it were there to begin with; you just boost mus essentially, Better to start with a bigger canvas of clear audio signal more more frequency and cut from there rather than not have any at all to use.
If you were to choose between this and Airpods 3 for Zoom calls microphone, which would you choose?
